Cutting Tools LTD was founded in 1968 as an engineering tool and
cutter re-grinding and reconditioning service to general engineers,
but in particular to the bearing industry.

During
my years of personal servicing of these accounts, I decided to move
into the manufacturing of some of the special machine parts which
were becoming more and more important to the large bearing manufacturers.
This part of the business grew quite rapidly and is now where we
are today - a manufacturer of special, tight tolerance components.

During the years from 1968 - 1995 I worked very closely with two
different partners but eventually ended up with all the company
shares due to bereavement and retirement respectively.

At
this point I decided to introduce my two sons, John and Wayne into
the business as they had indicated a very keen interest in the type
of engineering business I had built up over the years.
They had very good working backgrounds between them, from the mining,
steel and fabrication industries.
My 'advancing years' meant it was most important that I spent as much
time with them as possible - ensuring that the high standard of service
and quality with which we were associated was retained.

In 1999 I transferred 45% of the shares to each of my sons and, upon
my retirement in 2001, I was very proud to say that with the help
of the works management team and all of the staff, they had equipped
themselves to running the company in an efficient and professional
manner, with John taking the roll of managing director. |
